Privacy notice

Last updated Thu, Oct 15, 2026

Draft: this notice is still being reviewed, and the details of where information is stored will be confirmed before the app goes online.

Who we are

This app is run by String Bone Presents!, a registered company in Ontario, Canada. It's used by band managers ("users") to book and organize gigs and rehearsals for their bands: String Bone Presents!'s own bands, and, during the Beta, a small number of invited users with their own bands.

Each user is responsible for the information about their own bands, musicians and contacts. String Bone Presents! keeps it safe and runs the app for them, and is responsible for users' own account information. Each organization's information is kept separate: no user can see another's. Questions or requests: info@stringbone.ca.

What we keep

Why

Only to book gigs and rehearsals: sending offers, invitations, reminders and confirmations, putting lineups together, and keeping a record of past bookings. We don't sell personal information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except as below.

Who can see it

Where it's kept

The app is being set up to keep information in Canada (Montreal), with emails sent through a Canadian email service. This will be confirmed, and this section updated, before the app goes online.

Cookies

One cookie keeps you signed in (for up to 30 days). There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

While you're involved with the bands. If you leave a band, your record is kept so past gigs stay accurate, but your access ends. If you ask us to, we'll remove your personal details: your name is replaced with "Former player", your email, phone and notes are deleted, and your sign-in is deleted unless you still play in another band. Backup copies are kept for a limited time and then deleted.

Your rights

We'll answer within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Keeping it safe

Sign-in is by invitation only. The band manager also needs a code from an authenticator app. The database itself enforces who can see what, every change is logged, and connections are encrypted once the app is online.

Changes

If we change this notice, we'll update the date above and let musicians know about any important change.
